- Performing at the Prague Summer Nights Young Artists Music Festival was an unbelievable experience. I spent 3 weeks exploring the Czech Republic and performed in many historic venues including Dvorák Hall-Ruldofinum and the Estates Theater in Prague, the Méštanská Beseda in Plzen, and the Métske Divadlo in Tábor. We performed alongside Walter Seyfarth, principal clarinetist of the Berlin Philharmonic, and Josef Špaček, concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic. I can't wait to hopefully go back next summer!
- Thanks again to everyone who supported me with my recent trip to Inner Mongolia, China! It was an amazing trip and has already had a positive influence on my teaching and performing since arriving home. I highly recommend performing abroad any time the opportunity presents itself. Not only will you learn a lot about another culture, you will discover things about yourself that will hopefully influence you to always strive to be the best you can be, in any profession.
- I have recently finished a clinic/presentation on the performance aspects and compositional tools used in Steven Mackey's wonderful marimba solo See Ya Thursday. If you are currently playing the piece or just want to learn more about one of the best pieces in our repertoire, please email me and I will send it along in PDF format...it's a must-have for performers and educators alike!
